Gaming Check-In - March 2024

Welcome to March's instalment of my monthly Gaming Check-In, a blog series where I look back over the last calendar month and share some thoughts on what I've been playing. Now that we're more than a quarter of the way through the year, let's look back on how the third month of 2024 unfolded. GAMES IN PROGRESS - FOUR The main game in progress for the month of March was, of course, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth . As I stated in last month's post, this sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake has been one of my most anticipated releases for a long time, and while I intend to dedicate a full blog post to the game in the future once I've beaten it and had time to process my thoughts, it would be remiss of me not to talk about it at least a little here given how heavily it's featured in my game time this month. Gaming Check-In - February 2024

Welcome to February's instalment of my monthly Gaming Check-In, a blog series where I look back over the last calendar month and share some thoughts on what I've been playing. To remedy this, I made the bold decision to start over an

Gaming Check-In - January 2024

Welcome to the first instalment of what I intend to be an ongoing series of monthly blogs where I check in with updates on the games I've been playing recently. I'm mainly doing this to encourage myself to write more frequently, but also to provide some snapshots of my thoughts about what I've been playing that I can look back on in the future, possibly as a reference for more in-depth write-ups about specific games. GAMES IN PROGRESS - THREE My "main game" for the month of January was Monster Hunter: World , which I'm playing on my PlayStation 5 via PlayStation 4 backwards compatibility. This isn't my first rodeo with the Monster Hunter franchise, as I've previously played through the low rank village campaigns of both Freedom Unite on the PlayStation Portable and 4 Ultimate on the 3DS. This is also my second attempted run through World, having played most of the low rank story eighteen months ago before burning out and stopping just before the second
